With a background in public health and evidence-based research as well as kinesiology, Sarah is well-versed in individual-level health concepts such as nutrition, exercise performance, human anatomy and physiology, as well as broader, systemic-level social determinants of health, disease epidemiology, health promotion and public health policies.
Sarah studied Science at the University of Alberta before returning to Vancouver to study Health Sciences and Kinesiology at Simon Fraser University. She graduated in 2016 with two co-op terms at Fraser Health Authority as a part of the Royal Columbian Hospital Redevelopment Project. Throughout her education, and particularly during her co-ops, Sarah noticed an opportunity to introduce and utilize modern design techniques to visually translate technical knowledge and data. Following graduation, she continued to build on her design skills by learning how to use web design platforms and online design software to add to her skill set in Adobe Creative Suite. She started providing communications and design services and shortly after, began working at a global health research consulting company where she had the opportunity to collaborate with high-level stakeholders, contribute to clinical research projects, manage the office and support projects; and spearhead design responsibilities.
Sarah has recently expanded her skills to the event management and planning industry with a focus on digital and print marketing and communications materials. She collaborates internally and externally with a variety of clients and stakeholders to develop custom designs and communications for conferences, events, meetings, and trade shows as a Graphic Designer.
Sarah also has experience in areas such as customer service, project management, athletic conditioning, retail sales, internal communications, and small business marketing with an open mind to learn and grow with any opportunities that may come her way.
